The Nuisance of Being Groomed
Every week, Mom takes us to the laundry room to being "retouched" and cleaned up a little. She says it's for our own good. I have some doubts. She "files" our nails, clean our ears, brush our teeth, and brushes our fur goodbye. Neither me or Cosmo are fans of this procedure. All my frapping, and nub wagging; it's just celebrating that "it's over and I made it through". Not that I feel better like Mom thinks. Oh well, sometimes you have to go through some uncomfortable moment to make her happy. She gives biscuits after that. Yay! I will FRAP for that.

A New Year, New Resolutions, New Strenght
These past two weeks have been really cold. I enjoy running and feeling the wind. My mom... not so much. She wraps herself in layers of clothes, and our walks have been reduced to almost 5 minutes. Not fun. I know the weather will start getting a tiny bit warmer, and well go out for our regular walks. Can't wait!
Mom is happy that a New Year has started. She has been making her Resolutions list already! She was pretty good last year. I was proud. This year Resolutions: loose more weight, be in better shape for summer, buy and use a swimsuit, go on a cruise, keep living on the present, smile more, keep practicing boddhittsava habits, make more friends, get a house, improve her career, and dare to fall in love again! Keep blogging, journaling, taking more pictures of us, and things that she like. Pick up a hobby, learn something new. Woof! That's a lot! LOL
Me and Cosmo's resolutions are: be more obedient, get more kisses and hugs from mom, keep our good health, give mom lots and lots of love. Become cutter in mom's eyes. That won't be too hard.
Can't wait to see all the new adventures that this New Year is going to bring. May yours be full of beautiful surprises too!! : )

Feeling Better!
Mom has been feeling better lately. I already saw her writing more frequently on her journal... and sometimes: she smiles!!! Yay Mom!!! You go!!! I think she already started setting goals for the New Year. She has been mentioning that New Years are like a "restart button". That everything feels refreshed and with new beginnings. I knew she was going to pull through.
It has been cold lately. And the wind, makes my sis Cosmo, a little shivery. She is going to turn 14 years in January!!! I like when she tells me stories, plays with me, and when she cuddles with me! When I met her, she tried to ignore me. But my innate corgi cuteness won her all over. Now we are the best mates ever!

Not much to say. But everything will be fine.
My mommy has been very sad this past week. She says that her heart is broken. That she should have prepared herself, and not dwelled in hopes that much. She was working hard, but life threw at her an unforeseen curve. I have felt nervous and upset. She has noticed this, and has taken us for loooooong walks. I have enjoyed, but I think it gives her a lot to think of. At some of them, she cries. Others she gets a bust of energy and confidence. "I can do this". But then, tears strikes again. Me and Cosmo are giving all our love, and she returns it. She is very grateful that we are in her life. She says that just our presence gives her strength, and she says that everything will be fine. She looks scared and lost sometimes. She wants to talk, but it's afraid about what people have to say. Very few people have lost the art of just listening, and give comfort. Mom says that she feels guilty, that maybe there was something that she could have done. She has read old emails, secret letters, and her journal, but she can't find an answer. That perhaps, everything was decided already, and she was foolishly blind to see the signs.
I know she will be fine. I will give her strenght. She is my mommy after all!
On the picture, I am offering my belly to be rubbed. Mom says it provides, soothing effects, happiness, instants smiles, and lots of love. : )

When the weather cools down, we go for a walk!
Yay! Today mom took us for a very long walk. Although it was around the neighborhood, we enjoyed it a lot. The air was crisp and fresh. There is an empty lot close by and mom allowed to run, explore, and just be us for like an hour. She said she was happy because she brought her camera. We probably walked around 2.5 miles. For me it was a breeze! But for my sister Cosmo, who is 13, is a little bit difficult sometimes. Still, she was so happy, that we frapped for a little bit. When we returned, we were given some Peanut Butter. It was heaven!! Then, suddenly we felt soooooo very sleepy and we went for a nap.
Mom spoke with our aunts today, and we were delighted to hear that gramps did very well on his minor surgery. When he came to visit last time, it took me two full days to melt his heart and let me jump on the bed to his side. But my corgi charm has never failed. :)
Well that is for today. Mom says she is going to step away from the computer and do some cleaning. BTW the weather today is sunny and 57 degrees right now.

Hello!
Hello! I am Nala. I will be writing about my life and my human. Here is a picture of me when I arrived home. My human mommy says it was one of the happiest days of her life. That was almost 2 years ago. That was one of the reasons mom decided to write this blog. She wanted to share the joy of sharing her life and her heart with me. I will try to post at least one weekly entry. Maybe more. Thanks for visiting.
